Three wishes
POV - A genie grants you three wishes to use toward your writing career. What would they be and why?
This week's post, I decided to go with a random blog post topic, and this was it.
If I had three wishes to use toward my writing career, they would be:
1) Be published
2) Have people read and LIKE my work.
3) Have people make fan art.
Be published.
This might seem like a given and maybe a waste of a wish, but it would be my first one. I know there are loads of options for authors, self publishing, traditional publishing, KDP, independent publishers, there are tons of options. Currently, I do not have the means or funds to self publish.
So while I do not know which path will end up being mine, I do know that, with my current situation, my path is going to be slow.
I am going to query with Project Seer seeing where that takes me. I have no idea what will happen, but I am putting the positive vibes out into the universe.
Have people read, and LIKE, my work.
I guarantee that this would be exactly what every author would wish for. And if anyone disagrees, well, I won’t call you a liar, but I definitely won’t call you a truther.
Everyone wants people to read their book and fall in love with their babies. What we write takes a bit of our life. Every story, novel, or poem, has a bit of our soul in it. We need people to like what we create.
Have people make fan art.
The amount of giddy that this idea gives me. It is pure serotonin. I would love, absolutely love, to open social media one day and see people having drawn my characters, to have written fanfics about them. To have people love my characters so much that they have to express it through their own art. Pure happiness.
I think these would be my wishes. I also do not think that I would be alone in these. Though I would be curious, what would you wish for?
